Nigerian actress and filmmaker, Funke Akindele, has been recognized as one of The Hollywood Reporter’s “Most Influential Women in International Film.”
This prestigious global list highlights 46 women who are shaping the international film industry.
Akindele expressed her excitement on Instagram, stating, “I’m deeply honoured and truly grateful to be featured in The Hollywood Reporter’s ‘The Most Influential Women in International Film. To be recognised among 46 powerful, visionary women from around the world is more than a moment of celebration it’s a call to keep building, creating boldly, and lifting others as we rise.”
The recognition celebrates Akindele’s success in Nollywood with hits like Omo Ghetto, The Saga, A Tribe Called Judah, and her popular TV series Jenifa’s Diary.
She also took a moment to congratulate fellow honoree and Nigerian media mogul, Mo Abudu, calling her “a powerful source of inspiration” and praising her contributions to Africa’s creative industry.
