Church drama participation shaped my acting career – Bucci Franklin

Actor Bucci Franklin has revealed how participating in church drama during his formative years laid the foundation for both his career and spiritual journey.

In a conversation with Chude Jideonwo, Franklin recalled that his first stage experience came through the Evangelical Church of West Africa (ECWA), where he was the only teenager in the men’s fellowship drama group.

“I started from church. In my formative years, I was attending ECWA. Imagine being the only teenager in the men’s fellowship drama group, performing with men in their 50s right there on the pulpit where baptisms were held,” he said.

Franklin reflected on how those experiences not only sharpened his artistry but also deepened his faith.

“When I think about my experience as a child growing up and having different encounters with my Heavenly Father as regards my job, I know. I don’t need a soothsayer or somebody with a silver tongue. I know,” he added.
